美国公共交通协会(APTA)副主席 Pamela Boswell 开幕致辞

尊敬的来宾、女士们、先生们,早上好!

我谨代表美国公共交通联合会(APTA)预祝CPN首届中国城市交通国际年会圆满成功,同时,我很荣幸能获邀参加本次大会并作开幕致辞。APTA致力与促进与发展公共交通事业,并通过发展会员、技术创新及信息资源共享来促进公交事业的发展。现有美国、加拿大及全球的1500多个机构加入了APTA,这些机构包括交通系统、制造业、供应商、合同方、咨询业、政府机构、州际协会等。美国现有6000余个交通体系,公共交通事业是一个拥有440亿产值的行业。公交业在为美国经济提供保障的同时也极大的促进了就业。目前36万6千名执行雇员及1万2千名资本雇员。

明天上午,我将参加主题为:“中国公共交通发展的历史机遇”的主题论坛。我的演讲内容会侧重于公共交通在几个关键领域内的重要作用,例如:促进公交业发展成一个具有前瞻性的产业,促进经济发展,节约能源与缓解拥堵,保护环境与改善空气质量及健康状况,在紧急情况及灾害中的有效保障、为小型城市及农村地区提供机动性、公共交通对发展中地产增值的推动作用,为各年龄阶层提供便利交通,以及最终将公共交通发展为一种健康。人性化的服务。

在会议期间,我们将有机会分享成功的实践经验及教训,并一同探讨改善公共交通的创新解决方案。

最后,我很高兴能出席本次会议,并预祝CPN首届中国城市交通国际年会取得丰硕的成果,谢谢各位。

Dear Participants:

On Behalf of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), also on its actor, it is an honor for me to speak on the opening ceremony of CPN 1st China Urban Transportation Congress. Our vision is delivering force and advancing public transportation; our mission is to strengthen and improve public transportation. We accomplish this goal by diverse membership, innovation and information sharing. APTA represents over 1,500 member organizations in United States, Canada and internationally. Our members of transit systems, manufactures, suppliers, contractors, consultants, government agencies, state associations. There are 6,000 transit systems in the United States, public transportation represents a 44 billion industry. It is building and supporting a strong economy, as well as supporting employment. There are over 366,000 operating employees, as well as 12,000 capital employees.

Tomorrow morning, I will join a panel with experts in the section titled: China Urban Public Transportation: A New Era. My presentation will address the role of public transportation in a few key areas, specifically, promoting a diverse expensive and forward thinking industry, building a strong economy, conserving energy and reducing congestion, protecting environment and improving air quality and health, proving critical support during emergencies and disasters, offering mobility for small urban and rural areas, serving as a catalyst for increase real-estate values in development, providing access for all ages and finally delivering a central healthy human services.

Over the next few days, we have an opportunity to share best practices, lessons learned and creative solutions for improving public transportation options.
